Helping Ukrainians: how you can donate and engage
We thank the Armed Forces of Ukraine every day for the struggle and protection, for the opportunity to wake up in the morning. At the same time, we must remember that our independence and the victory of Ukraine in this war depends on each of us.
There are as many ways to contribute as there are people, because everyone can come up with their own version. It is not necessary to do something very large-scale - small steps bring the country closer to victory.
Financial aid
1. Support the Armed Forces with money
You can donate to United24, large foundations such as Povrnys Zhivym, the Serhiy Prytula Foundation, Hospitaliers and others, or to small initiatives. The main thing is to choose proven volunteers whom you trust. And remember that there is no such thing as too small a donation.
2. Share things with IDPs
Some people had to flee the war with one shoulder bag - or even without it at all. Ask the local authorities or volunteers what things the displaced people in your community need right now. It can be not only clothes or dishes, but also knitting needles and threads, which will allow you to distract yourself from the horrors.
3. Take the evacuated animal from the shelter
Someone could not take their pet with them, someone, unfortunately, deliberately left it. However, you can give the animal a new home and your love. Can't take someone in, but want to help? You can support UAnimals, Happy Paw, UPAW, Ukrainian zoos or local shelters and farms.
4. Help local volunteers
Small initiatives take on many small but important needs. And you can often support them not only financially, but also simply with your hands - help weave nets or pack food kits, set up a humanitarian account in Excel or design an information campaign to collect funds for a pickup truck.
