The Curator Challenge

The Curator challenge is a project that is done yearly by the 8th grade class of the International School of Prague. Students work in teams on this project, some aspects of the project are individual and others are a collaboration with their team. The 8th graders visit one of the Lobkowicz museums and with their teams recieve an historical object held by the Lobkowicz museum. Each team works with a curator from the museum and work to find out more about their object. The major part is the big presentation at the Lobkowicz Palace, for which the students do a presentation about the story of their object (or what they believe to be the story). Invited family and friends are invited to celebrate the accomplishment of the students project by watching the presentations. Then the curators watch the presentations and choose the top 3 winning teams. Each team is awarded with a certificate of completion but the winners win extra prizes. Those three winning teams' objects get displayed in the Lobkowicz Palace Museum along with some of their work on the project.
