Einsteinium is the 99th element in the periodic table and it is one of the actinides. Einsteinium has no use outside of research, and it has no known biological role. That is because it is so toxic and radioactive. Einsteinium can be otained in milligram quantities when neutron bombarding it with plutonium in a nuclear reactor. Most of the einsteinium made is einsteinium-253. Einsteinium is a metal that can glow in the dark due to its radiation. This is one of the rarest properties from all of the elements, but for the actinides, it's quite common. This element was discovered by Albert Ghiorso and Glenn T. Seaborg. It was discovered as a component of the debris of the first hydrogen bomb explosion in 1952. Einsteinium was named to honor Albert Einstein, a well know physist.
