Argon
Atomic Number: 18
Argon is the 18th element and it is a noble gas which means that it is not very reactive. It is a colorless, tasteless and odorless gas. This element is the third most abundant element in the atmosphere at 0.934%. This quite special because most noble gasses can be rare. Oxygen is the 2nd most abundant element in the atmosphere with 21% and nitrogen in first with 78%. Argon is used in fluorescent lights and welding. Argon has 24 known isotopes most almost every argon found is argon-40. The word Argon comes from the greek word for "lazy" because of it's lack of reacting to elements. William Ramsay discovered this element in 1894.
