Bohrium is the 107th element in the periodic table and it is the second last know transition metal in the table. There is barely anything know about this element. Scientists expect that it is a solid, and it is presumed that it has a steel gray color. Bohrium has no uses other than research. Only a few atoms of bohrium have been made. It has zero stable isotopes with the most stable being bohrium-270, which has a half-life of about 1 minute. It decays into dubnium-266 through alpha decay (the release of alpha particles). Bohrium is made artificially by bombarding bismuth-204 with chromium-54. Bohrium was discovered by Peter Armbruster in 1981. It was named after Danish physicist Niels Bohr. Niels bohr received the Nobel Prize in Physics in 1922. For a time it was known as "nielsbohrium" with the symbol Ns.
