The element Neon is 2nd element from the noble gas group. It is a colorless, odourless, and tasteless gas which is lighter than air. Neon is mostly no danger to humans in any way but when inhaling it could cause dizziness, nausea, and even vomiting. It is a very rare gas on earth but in the universe it is the 4th most abundant element. Also, only 0.0018% in volume of the earth's atmosphere is neon which most of it is found. Neon is used as a lighting source for different colored lights called 'neon lights'. Neon has 19 isotopes and the most common one (90.49% of all neon) is neon-20. The discovery of neon was by a man named Sir William Ramsay, in 1898. Neon is derived from the Greek word "neos", which means new.
