Happy caravan is a club at ISP.The club first started by working with the NGO Happy Caravan (also how we got our name), which used to work in two refugee camps in Greece and provided informal schooling for children temporarily staying there while they waited for relocation or approval of an asylum request. For many years, ISP had a partnership with them where a group of students from the club would travel there for WWW trips each year and we'd send them monetary aid as well as have other online interactions with the students and the organization leaders themselves. The founder, Mr. Janid, gave a TEDx talk at ISP a couple years back as well, which you could link to on the site. However, since last year when a new law concerning NGOs working in Greece was put into place, Happy Caravan has stopped operating. Now, we've redirected to more local initiatives.
With Good fairies happy caravan has been cllaberating with for a while. We often have visits with students to the children's homes they've founded on weekends to organize fun days for the children. We get to play with them different games and learn about their lives.
OPU was founded with the goal to help migrants who were uprooted, or who became refugees because of political, ethnic, religious, social, and other reasons, and applied for international protection in the Czech Republic. Happy Caravan works with them with acombination of financial aid and also organized a photo exhibit with Ukrainian refugee children they work with.
Dignity has been supporting displaced people entering the Czech Republic since 2015. Our work is vital to help people integrate and settle into a new country. We work very closely with refugees who have arrived from countries all over the world, including: Iraq, Ukraine, Afghanistan, Cuba, and many more. Happy Caravan is in the process of organizing a clothing drive with two 8th grade students for their community project, which is happening throughout this week.
Nadační Fond Veroniky Kašákovés goal is to visit, motivate and embrace all children in children's homes in the Czech Republic. This is a new collaberation for Happy caravan and is just beginning to communicate between the club and organistation, possibility of language exchange programs and clothing drives coming up
Happy caravan meetings are held every friday durng flex before lunch so 12:20-12:45. The meetings are held in different classrooms but normally they are held in room 265. If you would like to join reach out to either Jasmine or Ms Nina and they can help you further with the process by adding you to the emial list and explaining more about the club and what role you could play. We are looking for people who are willing to be active in the club and especilly people with talents in poster or slideshow making.
